Watching the Bulls in Downtown Chicago

We all wish mike was still
playing. |
Nowhere
is it more fun to watch a Bulls game than in downtown Chicago. Sure, sitting in your
living room is nice and its cheaper, but downtown crowds consist of rabid Bulls fans
who would be at the actual game if it werent for ticket scalpers and who go
there to be seen and not to cheer.
|
| There are many
great options for fans to watch the games. I asked Chicagonights staff to recommend
the one place they think is best to go watch the games:

| Jay
Williams: Last year, I went to the bars on Rush and Division to catch the final game of
the NBA finals. The area was packed with Bulls fans. I got there about an hour and a
half before game time, and already Alumni Club, Mothers, and many other places were
already filled up. I was able to get into Poets, and the place was filled with Bulls
fans and we had a great time cheering. After the game was the best part, as
everyone left the bars and started partying out on the street. The street was filled
with people, mounted policemen, police dogs, and news camera men and helicopters were all
over the place filming us as we celebrated. Unfotunately, there was no rioting, I
was looking forward to flipping over a few cars and bring home a few TVs. Seriously,
it was one of the most fun sports experiences of my life and you will not be disappointed
if you are down in this area for a game. You will definitely see me here again as
the Bulls repeat the threepeat.

Nadia Hindo:
I went to about three different places regularly
last year during the playoffs, and I think the place that was the most fun was Gamekeepers. The
crowd and atmosphere are great and they have plenty of TVs to see the action. They have a
lot of drink specials, and they will base some on how the team or Michael Jordon does. So
its pretty cool to root for the Bulls to score 120 or MJ to score 40 so that
everyone can get dollar shots.

Sensible: The place I have been going to watch Bulls games
is the Brew-n-view (you know - the Vic theater.) It
is an awesome place to see a Bulls game because you get to see the game on a movie screen
and it is filled with obnoxious Bulls fans who really get into the game (the taunting is
real fun with all the other Bulls fans, last time I was there I was yelling that Dickie
Simpkins deserved a sandwhich more than that Bill Wellington did and had the whole place
laughing.) Drinks are reasonably priced, and after the Bulls are done, Brew-n-view will
play movies for the rest of the night at no extra cost. As the games get further into the
playoffs, more people come to the Brew-n-view to watch, so when the Bulls win their 6th,
make sure you get there early. |
