Front of Star Dust

Star Dust and the Cosmopolitan Room are located at 440 N. Halsted at Hubbard Street near Grand Avenue. The club contains two floors of fun decorated in a very lounge style atmosphere. More notable than the decor is the hospitality factor. The Star Dust staff is extremely friendly, and this is a SINCERE friendly, not the kind of friendly that's just for the hope of big tips. The staff welcomed us with open arms on the night that we reviewed this club.

When you enter Star Dust, you can either go downstairs or upstairs. The downstairs is called the Cosmopolitan Room. It has the look of a classic 1970's lounge with its maroon color tone and cozy velvet booths. A large bar is located in the back and a separate side bar is located to the right for your drinking desires. A pool table is located in front of the main bar for those who feel like shooting some stick. Finally, there is a DJ booth located near the entrance to the room overlooking the dance floor. Disco music fills the air of this room. Overall, the Cosmopolitan Room is a true tribute to the lounges of the 1970's.

Resident DJs are
Martin Luna, Tony Srock, Matty,
Brent, Shamus, & Ryan

Up above the Cosmopolitan Room is the Star Dust room. The decor is dark, mysterious, and seductive. Cozy booths line both sides of this room. A dance floor fills most of the room with a light show that can control your every mood, overlooked by the DJ booth. The DJs pump out their smooth blend of garage house, underground, disco dubs, speed garage, hardbag, and even hip-hop to the stylishly attractive crowd. A large bar divides the dance floor from the front side of the Star Dust room. The front side also has a bar, easy chairs, stools, tables, and a pinball machine for all your nightclubbing pleasures. Also, way in the back of the room is a smaller area with its own bar, couches, and candles for those who just want to chill out. The most notable decoration in the Star Dust room is the strings of blue lights that line every step. Nice touch!
Star Dust and the Cosmopolitan Room have only one real designated special night. Thursday is known as the Chill Lounge, which is a night of restoration from the previous weekend. Outside of Thursdays, promoters are constantly throwing parties at Star Dust every Friday night. There have been parties ranging in everything from cigars and martinis, to a pajama-rama. Whatever party you attend, the one thing that will always move you is Star Dust's resident DJs. Martin Luna and Tony Shrock work both rooms, switching off every week. They are backed up by DJs Roberto Navarro and Frausto from Mix Masters Promotions. Guest DJs are also brought in weekly for added flavor. Overall, it's a fantastic place to party. The crowd both inside and lined up outside can vouch for it.
