The entrance to Voyeur is not simplistic. The new management decided to build a club with standards, starting with a dress code. Sneakers and denim will leave you out in the street. Even Sketchers are not allowed, despite the fact that they are popular with club kids. After you get past the outside security, a lovely lady behind a desk will take your cover payment and direct you to a flight of stairs. At the bottom of the stairs lies a hallway with a coat checkroom. Go to the end of the hallway, and youre inside Voyeur. One of the most interesting features of Voyeurs main room is the fact that it has four bars. Even more interesting is the fact that all four bars were constantly busy all night. Right in the middle of it all is Voyeurs dance floor. What separates this dance floor from most other dance floors is that its made of smooth steel plating. The edge of the dance floor is lined with small lights for an overall beautiful effect. Two of the corners of the dance floor have small round risers. Each riser has a pole through the center for the ladies to get, how shall we say, down and dirty for the voyeuristic pleasure of the crowd. Anyway, thats the first half of the main room. The second half is the cozier end for those who might not want to move on the dance floor. Besides the pretty large bar that fills most of this area, the most noticeable feature are the curvy booths that line the walls in this area of Voyeur. Very sexy. One last noticeable feature of the decor are the numerous reliefs found along the ceiling all over the club. Overall, the look of Voyeur is a meld of classic and progressive tastes. Voyeur has three special nights every week. Thursdays are called Pure at Voyeur. Resident DJ Lego moves the crowd with his special blend of deep house and garage. Fridays are known as Blur, with sonic architects Benjamin Greene and Jevon Jackson and your hosts Miguel Escobar and Dahveed. Chicagos material girl Colette hits the turntables with DJ Scott Sterling every Saturday for Visine at Voyeur. Expect to find deep house, dark overtones, and beautiful people gyrating to Scott and Colettes sounds, so dress up and be seen. There are a couple things to remember with this club. As mentioned before, there is a dress code. Anyone wearing denim and/or sneakers will be immediately rejected at the door. The cover charge is generally $10, but it can be bypassed before 11 PM with a flyer, so it would be beneficial to visit Gramaphones flyer section before heading over to Voyeur. In my opinion, Voyeur plays to its name. This is a club for those who like to look beautiful and be seen with other beautiful people. Voyeur Nightclub is located at 151 ½ W. Ohio.
